Did someone say "chocolate"? Oh well...best get in the car and drive over an hour to the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery then. This building is situated long and low on the top of a hill with a view of orchards and vines and other hills and it's all just rather marvy. Their devonshire teas are really good (fantastic scones) and the chocolate is amazing. I'd show you pictures, but I didn't take any because I was too busy feeding my face. Unfortunately, stuffing my face with yummy things means that I should offset the energy intake with a hefty walk. But I'm basically lazy, so I drove to Steavenson Falls, just outside of Marysville for an easy sightseeing venture. The car park to the first lookout is a relaxed 10 minute stroll so that probably worked off half a chocolate covered freeze-dried strawberry. Steavenson Falls is one of Victoria's highest waterfalls, and has 5 separate cascades of water and a rogue A that always trips me up when I write Steavenson. There's a lookout at the very top of the falls, but just look at it - it's a fair height and I'm an unfit wobbler with wonky knees...surely I wasn't going to attempt it? I had some lunch and more chocolate things and thought about it and just as I was thinking "nah..that's madness...you'll fall off the side of a mountain", my devil voice said "you're here now...you might as well give it a crack". So I did.
