Had the Boys Next Door (actual children, not the band) for the weekend while their parents absconded interstate to have a good time. We took them to Scienceworks and tried not to lose them. I promise, there was no intention to sell them for scientific experiment. I thought we might get a couple of hours entertainment out of it before they got bored, but we ended up being there for almost 5 hours and the boys loved it. We started at the Planetarium, which was a big hit, and worked our way around, poking, pulling and prodding at anything that moved (and some things that didn't) before being future proofed and filmed for prosperity. Or future bribery. We were among the last to leave and the car park was nearly empty. I had a tiny second of panic that my car had been stolen - before I remembered we were in the boys' car because, der...car seats! Day 2 started with a bush walk and a stint at the playground where there was much swinging, see-sawing and generally being childish. They boys enjoyed it too! We had packed survival snacks which was just as well because we were gone at least oohh....an hour and a half. When the boys decided they wanted to paint, I spent 0.9 seconds looking for painting smocks that I couldn't find, then opted to use plastic bags with a hole cut out for their bonces to fit through. Et viola - instant smock!
